Your review, Your power

I’ll admit before starting this journey I don’t know that I’ve left more than 2 – 3 reviews. Even though I read them all the time. I use them to make decisions on products I’m buying online. I use them if I’m debating between two books. I don’t typically follow authors on amazon. I as a general rule assume someone else will do it.

I’m going to go hard the other way now that I know what it feels like to be trolling for reviews, likes, shares, follows, tweets, snapchats, instagrams, those last two aren’t things I don’t think. I’m a little delirious and quite honestly book burnt out. Push through, push through ….

I have such a wonderful group of people who surround me and have been so supportive, its amazing. I don’t think I could ask for a better village I truly don’t. I am asking a lot of them, and I realize that it’s almost too much. There are at least a dozen places in theory someone could leave some version of feedback. Either for the book directly or on me as an author, “Oh god she thought to herself”.

I guess my point is that you have to leave reviews, understand that your words do matter, not to these huge corporations, their reach is vast and one or two poor reviews won’t matter to them. The small companies though, the independent people. Leave reviews, tell them if they did a good or a bad job. Be honest, but not cruel. Give them the opportunity to improve, to make your experience better. So many decisions are made by this weird hive mind of reviews that we have created. So be a part of the hive mind and weild your power.
