What Would You Do … If You Could NOT Fail??
A few years ago my husband asked me this very question. “What would you do if you knew you could not fail.” I responded, “write a book.” He told me later that he was envious that I had an answer to that question. So I turn the question to you, “what would you do if you knew you could not fail?”
If you have an answer and it is within your power to accomplish that task. Then do it, I will be the first person to cheer you on. If you aren’t sure what the answer if, maybe sit with the question for a bit. It’s an interesting concept. Fear of failure is a huge decision swinger. Lord knows it is the reason I took so long to write a book in the first place.
I knew it was likely I wouldn’t get published, so why bother. It has only been within the last 5-8 years that self publishing has taken off and given me the ability to do this myself, on my own terms. Whatever the answer to that question is, consider for a moment that instead of failing you will succeed. Then what would your picture look like.
I don’t know that I will meet the traditional measure of success. I look at pre-orders and book sales daily and moving that graph, turns out, is hard. You know what my version of success is? I wrote a book, I let people read it. I am attempting to get someone other than my inner circle to be interested. The rest I can leave up to fate and luck …. and book 2 …. obviously :).
